The most important of these is the "desire to be reborn in the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss" (nenbutsu sosho). Amida Nyorai exists because he has fulfilled all 48 of these great aspirations. Amida Nyorai is also called "Amitabha Buddha" or "Amitabha Buddha" because he has an unlimited life span and illuminates all people with his light. The two supporting deities are Kannon Bodhisattva, who represents the compassion of Amida Nyorai, and Seishi Bodhisattva, who represents wisdom. Honen says that if we chant "Nam-Mu-Amida-Butsu," Amida Nyorai will ride on a cloud with these 25 bodhisattvas and come to welcome us. 阿弥陀如来の国は、はるか西方にあり、「極楽浄土 」といいます。そこは、苦しみがまったくない安楽な世界であると『阿弥陀経』に書かれています。阿弥陀如来は修行時代、「五劫」という果はてしなく長い時間考えて48の大願をたてました。 なかでも重要なのは、「私に救いを求めるものすべてを極楽浄土に生まれ変わらせたい」という「念仏往生の願」です。それら48の大願のすべてを成就たからこそ、阿弥陀如来が存在するのです。阿弥陀如来は無限の寿命を持ち、その光であらゆる人々を照らしていることから「無量寿如来」「無量光如来」ともよばれます。 脇侍 は、阿弥陀如来の慈悲をあらわす観音菩薩と、智恵をあらわす勢至菩薩です。法然は、「南無阿弥陀仏」ととなえれば、阿弥陀如来がこれら25の菩薩をしたがえて雲に乗り、私たちをむかえにきてくれると言っています。［阿弥陀三尊］阿弥陀如来を中心に観音菩薩と勢至菩薩をまつる永遠の救いをあたえてくれる仏さま。いぬ年・いのしし年の守り本尊
