Description
The complete text of two of Uemura Shoen's famous essays is included in this reprint of the complete collection of her writings. The life of Uemura Shoen, a woman who persisted in her art, is unveiled in this collection. I don't think that I have ever painted a picture that deceived myself. -Uemura Shoen Uemura Shoen depicted the beauty of women with inner strength, transcending the concept of "beauty paintings" that are merely beautiful. His depictions of women continue to captivate viewers today, nearly a century later, with their graceful and dignified appearance. At a time when it was difficult for women to survive on their own, the life of this artist, who created a world of eternal beauty by carving out her own path with a single brush, gives us great courage today.
