MIL-J-5391, the L-2 became the L-2A in the early 1950s and the L-2B in the mid-1950s,
MIL-J-7448 L-2B, like the MA-1, became a masterpiece flight jacket that was adopted for a long period from the 1950s to the 1980s.
The early versions were equipped with oxygen tabs and had a gray lining.
(In the mid-1960s, the lining was changed to rescue orange to increase visibility during rescues.
(Type D-F) In the late 1960s, the distinctive epaulettes and storm tabs were eliminated, and the MA-1 no longer differed from the MA-1 in appearance.
(G-J type) In the late 1970s, the successor model, the CWU-36P, was adopted, but it was used by aircrews and ground crews until the 1980s.
Our product is modeled after MIL-J-7448E with the most distinctive epaulettes and storm tabs, and the armholes are narrowed to allow for a tighter fit.
The ribs on the collar, sleeves, and hem are made of 100% wool and manufactured to the same specifications as the actual garment.
