Description
The stylish IGA PLAYING CARDS single deck of cards, a timeless classic, has been reprinted. In the late 1980s, at the dawn of the computer age, designer Takenobu Igarashi was asked by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York to design playing cards that were appropriate for the new era. The result is a fluid design that moves between three-dimensional and two-dimensional surfaces. The double deck of playing cards, which became a timeless masterpiece, has now been reissued in almost the same form as when it was first released in 1993, and the single deck has been newly commercialized. The single deck has been newly commercialized. And now, a new single version, black and red, respectively, is newly released here. They are productized by FERDINAND PIATNIK and SONS (Piatnik), a world-class card manufacturer that started operation in Vienna, Austria in 1824. Takenobu Igarashi Sculptor and designer. Igarashi is a graphic*product designer whose works include the MoMA calendar and three-dimensional alphabet, VI designs for Suntory Hall and Calpis, and products for OUN and YMD, using the axonometric (perspective) method. In 1994, he became a sculptor. He has created many works as public art in a variety of materials including wood, stone, metal, terra cotta, and stained glass. Currently, professor emeritus at Tama Art University. |
