Description
Tie-dyed Kyoto Tenugui hand towel dyed by a traditional craftsman of Kyoto Kanoko Shibori. [Tie-dyeing - a technique of longevity -] Tie-dyeing is a technique that has been used since ancient times to create patterns on cloth. Tie-dyeing reached its peak in the early Edo period (1603-1867), and the technique has been handed down to the present day. The technique involves binding the cloth with thread, tightening the stitching, and sandwiching the cloth between boards. The charm of tie-dyeing is that even if the same lot of cloth is dyed, each piece will be dyed differently depending on the dyeing time and the overlapping method. [Our commitment to fabrics -Cotton and linen-]. The transparent cotton linen fabric is used for yukata (light cotton kimono). It is made of a mix of fine and thick threads, and is characterized by its transparency in the vertical direction. The fabric is firm and comfortable to the touch, and when dyed, the shading caused by the difference between the fine and thick yarns gives it an interesting look. The width is thicker than the usual tenugui towel size, making it comfortable to use. *It can be used as a gift or framed for interior decoration. *This product will be delivered with an obi cloth wrapped around it.
