Description
[Gift / Gift / Celebration / Bowl Size:18.5 cm (diameter) X 6.5 cm (height) Please note that there may be a slight variation in the color of the glaze due to the handmade nature of the product. The family is directly descended from Kato Fujishiro Keisho, the founder of Seto Ceramics, and is the origin of many potters with the surname of "Kato. Counting from the first generation, the 19th Kagesada (the first generation [Karasaburo]) became an official of the Owari Tokugawa family under the order of Tokugawa Ieyasu. The 20th [Karasaburo] produced Omukai Pottery in Nagoya Castle by order of Yoshinao, the first lord of the Owari Tokugawa clan (Ieyasu's ninth son). He succeeded to the name of the 31st Karasaburo Kato in 1991, and since his successor's selection in 1974, he has been selected for the Tokai Traditional Crafts Exhibition consecutively until today, and for the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition every year since the 25th exhibition in 1978 until the 36th exhibition in 1989. This product is a masterpiece by the 31st Karasaburo Kato, and is a gem of Kizeto, which is in the tradition of Momoyama Meito-e ceramics. Please enjoy a moment of bliss with a piece of work backed by traditional taste and reliable technique. |
