| Botanical* die scarf [hydrangea]. BOTANICAL=Plants DYE=Dye Each plant has its own natural pigment. Botanical is a technique to extract pigments from natural sources such as flowers*stems*leaves, fruits or ores of plants and adsorb them into fibers. Different parts of the plant, such as petals*leaves*branches*fruits, are made into water, boiled in hot water, grinded, and the pH is changed to express the various colors of the plant. The dye is fixed with a new technique that differs from conventional herb dyeing, resulting in beautiful colors and high colorfastness. The water discharged after dyeing is nearly transparent, making it an environmentally friendly dyeing method. This long-sized stole is dyed with hydrangea petals.
