[What is Ise-katagami?] Ise-katagami is a paper pattern used for kimono stencil dyeing. It is a traditional craft (tool) with a history of more than 1,000 years, in which patterns are engraved by various hand-carving techniques. The patterns are delicate, beautiful, and intricate, and are created by the outstanding skills of craftspeople. These patterns have a variety of meanings, and one can feel the profound spirit of the Japanese people, who express their feelings and the four seasons through their patterns. Inspired by this traditional technique, we have created Kaya's original tenugui. *Tenugui hand towels made with the traditional technique of Chusen (dye pouring) born in the Meiji era*. Traditions passed down from generation to generation. Unchanging techniques. Evolving designs through the ages. Japanese hand towels. The "blotting" and "blurring" produced by hand-dyeing.
