Description
Round coasters woven with Ata vines. Ata coasters with a characteristic candy color go well with Japanese-style rooms and rooms with natural taste. The characteristic candy-colored luster of Ata coasters is obtained by smoking the coasters with coconuts after weaving. This process makes the product resistant to humidity and insects. They are also well suited to the hot and humid climate of Japanese summers, and last for a long time. This is a traditional handicraft of Tuganan village in Bali. The vines of the Ata plant, which is native to Indonesia, are dried and woven, dried in the sun, and then smoked using coconut nuts. This gives the ata products their characteristic candy color. Each piece is made with a great deal of time and effort. Nowadays, there are only a few craftsmen who can weave ata.
