Description
| Baskets made in the Banfora region, Burkina Faso. Light and simple. It can be used for various purposes, such as for storing vegetables. The material for the Volga basket is a grass that grows wild in the grasslands, a type of grass called Napier grass or Elephant grass, locally called Nanchem Gulu (Kassena Nankana), Kulukata (Gruni), Kpenpening (Bulk), Kulkara (Dagomba), etc. Kulkara (Dagomba). Most of them seem to grow wild in wetlands near riverside areas or along banks. The weavers cut them and bring them home, cut them to the same length, dye them in many different colors according to their designs, sort them, and store them. ボルガバスケットの材料は草原に自生する草で、ネピアグラスまたはエレファントグラスという草野の一種で、Nanchem Gulu（Kassena Nankana）、Kulukata（Gruni）、Kpenpening（Bulk）、Kulkara（Dagomba）などと現地では呼ばれています。多くは川辺近くの湿地や土手沿いに自生しているようです。ウィバーたちはそれを刈ってきて家々の持ち帰っては、同じ長さに切りそろえたのち、デザインに合わせて何種類もの色に染色して、分類して保管します。色とりどりの美しいバスケットは、個々のウィバー（編み手）さんたちのオリジナリティーあふれる創意工夫によります。
