| A collaboration brand between Kokuraori, which has a tradition from the Edo period, and Imabari Towel, This is a collaboration brand of [Kokuraori], which has a tradition from the Edo period, and [Imabari Towel]. The large size is popular overseas. The high-density yet lightweight finish gives this towel an easy-to-use volume. Reversible, with different patterns on the front and back. Comes in a chic black box, making it an ideal gift. [GOLDPEARL x SHIMAMIZUMA] Kokura-ori, which has a tradition from the Edo period, and Imabari towels have been produced for more than 100 years since the Meiji era. Both of them feature yarn dyeing, in which the yarn is dyed first to produce the pattern. SHIMA-SHIMA is a modern interpretation of Kokura-ori. Under the supervision of Noriko Tsukijo, a dyeing and weaving artist, the warp threads are densely woven using the excellent techniques of Imabari Towel. The warp threads are woven at high density to express the world of Kokura-ori in towels.
