Description
| Komachi is used as a name for a beautiful woman because Ono no Komachi, a female poet of the Heian period, was beautiful. Imabari Komachi is woven one by one using traditional weaving techniques, inspired by the image of a beautiful girl with a reputation in Imabari. Such a series is Imabari Komachi. This is a gift of sincerity, softly woven with a traditional Japanese hemp leaf pattern on one of the few yarn-dyed two-pattern gauze looms in Imabari. This gift is woven softly on a gauze loom, and is a gift from Magokoro. Hemp leaves have been used to decorate Buddhist statues since the Heian period (794-1192). |
