Description
Sharaku soft double gauze hand towel This hand towel features the works of Sharaku, a famous ukiyoe woodblock print artist active in the Edo period. It is made of double gauze material, which is soft to the touch and absorbs water well. Made in Japan. [Sharaku Toshusai is one of the most famous ukiyoe artists of the Edo period, and along with Hokusai Katsushika, he is one of the most famous ukiyoe artists in the world. Sharaku is called a mysterious artist who disappeared without a trace after having produced a series of yakusha-e (portrayals of actors) and other works in a short period of time (only a few months). Sharaku [Edobei of Otani Onitsugu]. Kabuki This is a depiction of an Edo-bei who attacks Yakko Ippei, played by Ichikawa Omezo, in an attempt to steal his yokin (money). The pairing of Ippei and Edohei is evident in the way Ippei's chin protrudes and his eyes glare up at the actor from below. |
