*Warm wood block print

This is a lovely handkerchief with a rustic, warm print and lots of Indian charm!

The material is soft and easy to use, making it perfect for everyday use! You will want to collect many of them with different patterns ^^.

*Charming Indian Cloth

Mud-dyeing (dove printing) is a process in which a muddy paste, which prevents the cloth from being dyed, is applied to a wood block (wooden plate) with a pattern carved on it and pressed onto the cloth. Then, wheat hulls are sprinkled over the paste and onto the cloth. Then the wheat hulls will stick to the mud and dry in the sun.

Then we soak them in the indigo dye solution, let them dry, and stamp them again with a wood block... This process is repeated over and over again until the indigo blue color is achieved. The history of this mud-dyeing process is said to have started around the 8th century near the village of Akola in India, and it is a process with a long history.

*The crystal of handmade

In India, there is a technique called wood block, which is made by hand-stamping hand-carved woodblocks. In Japan today, cloth is printed as if it were a newspaper being printed, but long ago, people in India, who did not have sophisticated printing machines and other equipment, came up with the idea of woodblock printing in order to beautifully dye their own cloth with their own hands.

This handkerchief is one of the products made by the old-fashioned method using wood block printing. The patterns of small flowers and vines that Indian women love, the light colors, and the slightly off-kilter patterns that only handmade fabrics can produce, remind us of the land far, far away. It is a small piece of cloth, but even within it is filled with tradition and a continental sense of beauty.

It is the result of careful handwork that takes a long time to complete, as the plates are changed every time the colors change. India is a treasure trove of beautiful cloth, but cloth made of woodblock has a special charm of its own.
