縁は浮き出たエンボス加工になっていて、中心の模様は彫られて描かれています。浮き出た縁の部分は滑り止めのようになっいるので、見た目の良さと実用性を兼ねたデザインです。
縁は盛り上がっているので、トレイに載せた物が少し滑っても、落ちにくいようになっています。
■イスラムの芸術と幾何学模様
イスラムの影響が強い地域や、アラブ圏では、普通に町中を歩いているだけではっとするようなデザインに出会います。床を見ると、タイルが幾何学模様にきれいに貼られていたりします。

■経年変化を楽しめます
ブラス製なので、経年変化による表情の変化を楽しめます。最初は、かなりピカピカですが、時間とともに落ち着いた風合いへ変化していきます。経年変化を楽しめるのも良いところです。
逆に綺麗なまま使いたい場合は、重曹と水を混ぜて布で拭いたり、黒ずんできたら市販されているポリッシングクロスに研磨用クリームをつけて磨くことで、綺麗になります。
また、皿中心のエンボス模様の溝は、最初黒っぽい塗料が塗られておりますが、物によりほとんど塗料が塗られていない物もあり、個体差がございます。こちらの塗料は、塗られている場合も、洗ったり使用の過程で、徐々に薄く経年変化して、最終的には塗料なしの状態となります。
