Description
*Primitive molding In Vietnam, bells were often used in Buddhist temples and were rung to signal prayer or meditation. Bells were treated as sacred, and the sound of the bell was heard as the voice of Buddha or God. Bells were sometimes engraved with Sanskrit characters or Buddhist teachings, and the sound was believed to ward off evil spirits and misfortune. This bell is one such bell. Unlike western bells, this bell has no tongue, but it is small and has a strong presence, giving it a somewhat solemn feeling. Please use it for both interior decoration and meditation. |
