一つ一つが手で編まれているとは思えない上質さ、防虫効果があり、長持ちするココナッツの燻し加工の香りが素敵です。
■丹精込めて作られた手作り製品
今ではバリの名産品として大変有名なアタ籠ですが、一番初めはバリ島東部のトゥンガナン村で作られたものです。このトゥンガナン村に住んでいる人たちはバリアガと呼ばれるバリに元から住んでいた人たちで、いわばバリの原住民。現在は塀のように囲ったムラの中で生活し、機織りやアタ籠を作って暮らしています。
