| *An atmospheric white metal silvery shiny and luxurious metal white metal incense holder made of Orn. This sacred letter incense holder is based on the Hindu holy script called Orn. White metal is not often seen in Japan, but it is often used for ritual articles in India because its silvery light gives a sense of cleanliness. The surface is engraved with fine Indian-style decorations, giving it an even more luxurious, ethnic, and gorgeous feel. Originally, Indian metal designers made the original molds, but in order to deliver them to a large number of people at a reasonable price, molds are made from the original molds, and molten metal is poured into the molds. Once the metal has hardened, it is taken out of the mold, and the fine details are shaped and polished to completion. *This incense burner is a typical Indian creation. When incense is inserted, all the incense sticks out of the plate. Therefore, the ashes of the incense do not go into the dish too much. I guess Indians are OK with that. |

ホワイトメタルはあまり日本ではみかけませんが、銀色の光が清潔感を与えるのでインドでは祭礼用品などによく使われている金属です。表面には細かいインド風の装飾が彫られ、さらなる高級感とエスニック感、ゴージャス感が感じられます。
元々はインドの金属デザイナーが原型を作っていますが、多くの人にリーズナブルなお値段で届けるためにその原型から鋳型を作り、その鋳型に溶かした金属を流しこむ方法で作られています。金属が固まったら鋳型から出し、細かいところを整形し、磨いて完成です。
■お香立てですがインドらしい作りです。
この商品ですが、お香を挿すとお香は全て皿の外にはみ出る形になります。ですのでお香の灰はあまりお皿の中には入りません。こういう商品が作られている所を見ると、インド人はそれでもOKなのでしょうね。
