Among our customers who have a passion for natural materials, there were many who longed for the comfort of linen. This series was finally realized thanks to the strong enthusiasm of the people of Kalatmak, India, our fair trade partner. This season, the series is now available in linen-cotton fabric. The crispness of linen is layered with the work feel of cotton, which is great for everyday use. [It can be worn as a coat or a dress.] A linen coat that looks great when worn over a loose-fitting coat. It is made with lightweight 8-minute sleeves so that you can enjoy it for a long season. When the seasons change, the crisp feel of linen on the skin will gently adjust to the changing temperatures. Fasten the buttons to create a one-piece dress with a collar. With its shining detail design, this particular piece will become the star of your outfits. [Work Design] From this season's theme [botanical garden], the image of a person working in the garden is subtly incorporated into the design. The collar, which has a work feel, is small, leaving a hint of daintiness. The square pockets and the waist seam give the dress an expression. The high position of the seam can be expected to enhance the style of the dress. The cuffs have slits to keep the hand cool. We recommend wearing it with a single fold for a more crisp look. It is a lovely detail because it is Kalatmak. The traditional Indian Chikan embroidery was carefully stitched, stitch by stitch, by village women in their own dwellings. Locally, carved wooden stamps are used as drafts for the delicate embroidery. [Stamping" is a handicraft.] The embroidery designs for this linen series were designed by Indian stamp makers and patterns handed down locally. The embroidered vines and plants are also a slight adaptation of the base design to suit the garment. This is Aroman's workshop, where he has been an artisan for 20 years. She told us that she grew up watching the back of her father who was a craftsman. Stamping work, whose number of craftsmen is decreasing year by year, is another kind of craftsmanship that we would like to share with you through fair trade. 昨年から新たにスタートしたリネン素材のシリーズ。
自然素材に思いを持ったお客様のなかでも、「リネン」の着心地を待ち望んでいる方が多くいらっしゃいました。
そんなたくさんの声が海を越えて、フェアトレードパートナーであるインド・Kalatmakの人々の強い熱意により、ようやく実現が叶ったシリーズです。
今季はリネンコットンの生地で登場。
リネンならではのシャリ感に、日常づかいに嬉しいコットンのワーク感を重ねました。
「コートでもワンピースでも」
ざっくりと羽織れば、サマになるリネンコート。
ロングシーズンでお楽しみいただけるよう、軽やかな8分袖でお作りしています。
季節の変わり目には、リネンのシャリ感ある肌ざわりが気温の変化をやさしく調整してくれるはずです。
ボタンを留めれば、襟元がポイントのワンピースに。
ディテールのデザインが光る、こだわりの一枚が着こなしの主役になってくれます。
「ワークデザイン」
今季のテーマ「botanical garden」から、お庭で仕事をする人のイメージを、さりげなくデザインに込めました。
ワーク感のある襟元は小ぶりにして、可憐さもひとさじ残して。
四角いポケットと、ウエストの切り替えパーツで、ワンピースに表情が生まれました。
切り替えは高めの位置にしたことで、スタイルアップ効果も期待できます。
袖口にはスリットを入れて、手元を涼し気に。
一折しても、メリハリが出ておすすめです。
ポケットは内布を固定したことで、羽織ったときに内側から見えないように。
日々の機能性にもさりげないこだわりを。
外へ出かけるワクワク感と、リネン生地を活かした心ときめくおしゃれ。
どちらも大切に、デザインに込めました。
「手仕事のツルを美しく絡めて」
後ろのウエストラインには、蔓(ツル)をイメージした植物ディテールを。
リネン生地に、インドの手刺繍の蔓が美しく絡まっています。
Kalatmakだからこその愛しいディテールです。
インド伝統のチカン刺繍を、村の女性たちがそれぞれの住居で、一針一針、丁寧に縫い上げました。
現地では、繊細な刺繍を施していくための下書きとして、木彫りのスタンプが使われています。
「"スタンプ"という手仕事」
今回のリネンシリーズの刺繍デザインは、インドのスタンプ職人がデザインしたものや、現地で伝承されてきた模様を採用しています。
蔓植物の刺繍も、ベースデザインを服に合わせて少しアレンジを加えたものです。
職人歴20年のアロマーンさんの工房です。職人だった父の背中を見て育ったと話してくれました。
年々職人が減ってきているスタンプの仕事もまた、私たちがフェアトレードを通してお伝えしたいものづくりです。
「使うほどに馴染むリネン」
細番手のコットンとリネンで織られたシャリ感のある生地。
風通しがよく、吸水性と発散性にすぐれた、肌にまとわり付きにくい春夏の生地。
お洗濯を繰り返しても丈夫で、洗いざらしのシワ感もお楽しみいただけます。
