This is a flat kyusu made of Tokoname ware in collaboration with Hitomizu, a pottery that has been in existence for nearly 100 years in Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture. It features natural coloring without glaze and a high-precision, uniform finish.
Tea brewed in a Tokoname-yaki kyusu reacts with the iron oxide in the kyusu and the tannin in the tea, resulting in a mild taste without bitterness or astringency. The use of iron oxide-rich clay from the Chita Peninsula in Aichi Prefecture makes the kyusu highly water-resistant, making it ideal for use in kyusu.

The flat kyusu is wide and shallow, creating ample space inside the kyusu for the tea leaves to spread slowly and extract the flavor.

The long handle makes it easy to hold even for those with large hands, and allows for stable pouring of tea.

A tea strainer (Ceramesh filter) with many fine holes in the body is used. Unlike metal tea strainers, this type of filter does not produce a metallic smell or unpleasant taste, allowing you to enjoy the original flavor of the tea.
