Description
Series using Kalamkari, a dyeing technique from southeastern India This dress has a loose-fitting silhouette. This Kalamkari print item has a paisley pattern and line print as an accent. The light colors are made from all-natural dyes made from flowers, bark, and minerals, giving the item a gentle atmosphere. The generous gathers at the cuffs add a feminine touch. Color Green Blue Model height: 168cm (wearing blue) Calamcari print Kalamkari means "pen" and "kari" means "work." It is a traditional Indian technique of wrapping a bamboo stick around a pen and pointing out colors like a pen. Gradually, woodblocks were used instead of hand-painting, and later the flower arabesques themselves came to be called kalamkari as well. The prints are dyed with natural dyes using plants and trees, and each pattern is drawn out by hand-pressing with a block of woodblock. Charcoal, alum, herbs and flowers, indigo, Akane, turmeric, etc. are used for coloring, and the colors blend with each use, expressing a rustic hue. The calming colors that can only be produced by the power of nature and old-fashioned handwork are the hallmarks of this kalamkari. |
