[Tokoname ware]
Tokoname ware is one of the six oldest kilns in Japan, and its origin dates back to the end of the Heian period.   Tokonameyaki is characterized by the large amount of iron produced on the Chita Peninsula.
Tokoname ware is characterized by the use of iron-rich clay from the Chita Peninsula.  
The reddish coloring of the iron is called "Shudo,"   and is the color that characterizes Tokoname ware.
The color of the pottery, which characterizes Tokoname ware, was produced.
