| This is the first collection of works by Ayumi Shioya, whose "Sento Zukuri" (illustrations of public bathhouses) drew much attention and was featured in many media, including TBS's "Jounetsu Tairiku" (Continent of Passion). The book contains a wide range of works, including a series of works depicting public bathhouses and bathing facilities around Japan, works depicting restaurants and other stores, offices, tea rooms, etc., as well as a series of works depicting visits to famous architectural structures. Shiotani actually measures the building facilities he depicts and draws the spaces three-dimensionally using an architectural drawing method called isometric. He also explains the method. In addition, he not only draws the inside of buildings, but also the people in them, with their little stories, which is also an attraction of his works. |
