国鉄C57形蒸気機関車は細身で優美なボイラーから「貴婦人」の愛称で親しまれた蒸気機関車です。
19号機はC57形蒸気機関車一次形グループの中でも標準的なディテールを持つ車両で、1938（昭和13）年に製造され、1972（昭和47）年に新津機関区で引退の時を迎えました。現在は新潟市新津鉄道資料館にて静態保存されています。
最小走行半径はR145となります。
