Description
*Vietnamese traditional lanterns These lantern-shaped lanterns are often seen when visiting Vietnam. The handmade, warm bamboo framework, and the traditional patterns that remind us of the history engraved on the beautiful, shiny fabric cloth, The stylish French streetscape and the countless lanterns with their fantastic light leaking from the lanterns, both vertically and horizontally, are enough to make you let out a sigh of relief. In Hoi An, Vietnam, where the entire city is a World Heritage site, lanterns are laid out every month on the night of the full moon. It is a cultural practice to remember and honor ancestors, and they used to make offerings of fruits and flowers at family altars. They burn incense *mei ku, for good luck and prosperity. If we were to use a Japanese metaphor, it would be like having Obon every month. Then the lights go out in the historic district of the old town, and only the lanterns are lit. *This is an item that is full of Vietnamese flavor! This item is not made for the Japanese market, so it may be a little rough in some parts and may look slightly different from the picture. Please use your own light bulbs or candles. When photographed, we used a bare light bulb thrown in to create a very nice atmosphere! Please note that each item is handmade, so each design pattern is different. Please be aware of this before purchasing. |
