Mortavite was discovered in the Moldav river in the Czech Republic in 1787. 取り扱う全商品において、日本国内一点づつ手作業で拭き、検品、パック後、心をこめて梱包出荷しております。
モルダバイトはかつては隕石だと思われていましたが、現在では巨大な隕石が地球に衝突した際に冷やされてガラス状になったテクタイトの一種であることが明らかになりました。
表面にあるギザギザや傷、こぶ、凹凸などはその冷却時にできたもので、その特徴を利用して彫刻品やカメオなどに加工され、宝飾品として珍重されています。
モルタバイトは1787年にチェコのモルダヴ川で発見されたテクタイトです。
そのあと各地でテクタイトが産出されましたが、オーストラライト、フィリピナイト、ジャワナイトなどのように、産出地を冠して名称がつけられています。
