Description
| The design is based on a line drawing illustration of a neon tube. The embroidered Chinese characters for "恭喜發財" are a greeting said in China and Taiwan at the New Year, wishing that you will be blessed with a lot of fortune. The opposite direction [福] is an auspicious design that is believed to bring [happiness]. The auspicious tiger and peony, which is native to China, are depicted on both sides. Heavy-weight backed fabric is used with a voluminous, fleece-like puffiness. The hood is made to stand up when worn, taking advantage of the characteristics of the taut fabric to accentuate the coolness of the hood when worn. By slightly narrowing the hem, a cool silhouette is created with the volume of the upper body itself. The embroidery here is done using a machine used for scajans, and is expressed in a way that gives a sense of three-dimensional movement to the picture. |
