Satoshi Kako, who passed away in 2018, left behind a manuscript of some 240 small stories, which he personally edited and categorized into different types of stories. These are [animal stories], [Japanese folktales], [stories from everyday life], and [stories from around the world]. He edited the stories that had not yet been published in books, or that had appeared in magazines or as picture storyboards, by altering and illustrating them until just before he passed away. Each volume is full of interesting stories for children from young children who have begun to read to elementary school age children, and can be read from any part of the story.
Volume 3 is [Animal Stories [No.3]], one of the three books in the series. The unique Tsunahiki fairy tale [Kani chan oesu kame chan oesu], which is also expressed in many pictures; a story that was originally a picture-story show; the adventure story [Panchan nezumi no daikenken]; and a story in which animals protest and seek reflection on human society and make proposals for the survival of life on earth [... Spitsbergen Church Gathering] contains Kako's profound message. [The book contains 18 stories.
