Description
*Directly imported from the U.S.A.* Hot Wheels sign *Licensed product Die-cut metal sign of the miniature car brand [Hot Wheels] of the American toy manufacturer Mattel. It is said that no American goes through childhood without owning a Hot Wheels. 16 Hot Wheels miniature cars are sold every second around the world, making it the number one miniature car in the world! In the late 1960s, Mattel, which had achieved great success with Barbie dolls, took the next step and launched Hot Wheels, a line of miniature cars for boys. At the time, Matchbox by Lesney of England already had a dominant market share, but the company gathered talented designers from GM, Ford, and Chrysler, and with a design based on the motif of hot rods and a concept of miniature cars that ran faster than anything made by other companies, it became a huge hit! The rival minicar company [Matchbox], Lesney, also became a subsidiary of Mattel. The Hot Wheels logo was designed by California artist Rick *Irons, who was working for Mattel at the time, and fits the extreme deformation of the Hot Wheels miniature cars. The company was originally sold in Japan as Hot Wheels, but changed its name to Hot Wheels in 1999. The material of the sign is plywood sandwiched between steel materials, and the holes allow for easy display on the wall of your garage or room. |
