Penbrook is the site of the famous castle where King Henry VII was born, and is a place of outstanding scenery.
In the 18th century, a designer visiting the area saw Japanese Imari ware, which was not readily available in the West at that time.
The design was inspired by the image of Imariyaki, the joy of Oriental longing.
It was reissued in the 1970s and is now one of Ainsley's most representative pieces.
