Description
*Wood blocks that have been developed along with Indian cloth traditions. India has long been a land of production of not only saris but also all kinds of cotton products, bedspreads, tablecloths, and other fabrics. Therefore, there are many traditional methods of applying designs to fabrics. One of them is the wood block stamp. The design is carved into the cross section of a piece of wood, ink is applied to the woodblock, and the design is printed onto a large piece of cloth by hand. This process sounds very simple when explained in words, but it takes a lot of time and effort to finish a piece of cloth because it is done one by one by hand. The manual process also produces slight blurring and bleeding of the prints, which gives the entire fabric a lively expression. This is a wonderful culture unique to the handmade country of India. The wood used for wood blocks is also selected for its hardness and longevity, so carving the wood is a very time-consuming process. The culture of wood block stamping has been nurtured through a long tradition, and the wood block stamp itself is a wonderful handmade handicraft. *Fantastic lights This candleholder is an interior item that uses such an attractive handicraft, the wood block itself, as a candleholder. The warmth of the handmade, warm and cozy candlelight creates a very beautiful space. We recommend this item for a wide range of uses at home and as a gift. |
