| A collaboration between Mookie Sato, a TIKI artist active around the world, and Rainbow DRIVE-IN. This is an original artwork written especially for this project. The chunky mug with turquoise blue as its main color is truly mid-century. Take a woody wagon loaded with longboards to the old-style Rainbow Drive-in! The inside of the mug is off-white to show the color of your drink. ~ Mookie Sato Mookie Sato is an artist who specializes in mid-century and tiki modern styles and has worked in the U.S., France, Spain, Australia, and other countries. In his twenties, he was based in the U.S. as a vintage buyer, and began his art activities mainly at record labels and museums. He later won the Grand Prix at the Polynesian Art Competition in Miami. Recently, he was honored in Florida as "the artist who contributed the most to Tiki culture. He has been the main guest at Tiki OASIS in the west and HUKILAU in the east, two of the biggest Tiki culture events in the U.S., where he has worked side by side with world-renowned artists such as Shag and Derek. He is also actively involved in charitable activities on Easter Island and in Polynesia, and is committed to the preservation of art as a cultural art form. 〜 Rainbow Drive-In A famous plate lunch restaurant representing Hawaii. When asked "Where is your favorite plate lunch in Honolulu? Since its establishment in 1961, Rainbow Drive-In has been extremely popular among locals and surfers.
