Description
| After visiting Edo for the first time in 130 years, Shirakumamaru meets the great thief* Nezumi Koso Jirokichi. The Rat Boy was known for scattering stolen koban from the roofs of town houses, but this was the work of a fake. Under the orders of the Yoshino fox *Masahime*, who is not pleased with the impostor, Shirakumamaru pursues his true identity. ...... After traveling with a painter named Tameichi *Katsushika Hokusai, Shirakumamaru heads for Osaka on the advice of a hermit. There, he meets a bandit wearing a white fox mask and his pursuer, Oshio Katsunosuke. Tadunosuke's father, Oshio Heihachiro, is angry with the shogunate and the magistrate's office for not helping the people who are suffering from a famine caused by a series of bad harvests, and plans to rebel against them. The film looks at the absurdity of human society through the eyes of the fox *Shirokumamaru, who lives beyond the times. The seventh installment of this highly popular historical fantasy is filled with a rainbow of colorful characters, including the Rat Boy, Katsushika Hokusai, and Oshio Heihachiro. |
