Description
There are many kinds of Kyoto oil absorbent paper. This product was designed with the five-story pagoda of To-ji Temple (Kyo-o-gokoku-ji Temple), which is located near Kyoto Station, the symbol of Kyoto, and is made of genuine Japanese paper that has been subjected to 7 tons of pressure for outstanding absorption. Abuatorigami is the No. 1 souvenir from Kyoto. Abuatorigami looks the same at a glance, but there are few products using pure Japanese paper. It is not enough to just use Japanese paper. Sebum will not be absorbed unless the same kind of pressure is applied to this thin Japanese paper as was applied to gold leaf lined paper in the Edo period (1603-1868). General oil absorbent paper, like tissue, absorbs water by capillary action as soon as the edge is dipped in water, but this does not absorb sebum. Only when the fibers are crushed does it absorb oil without absorbing water (try dipping it in water once and it will not absorb water). Just one sheet of oil-absorbing paper is useful for your make-up application. You don't need to use a lot anymore. It removes the sebum that is not removed by the paper blotting paper. [Aburatorigami from Toji Temple] As you know, this oil blotting paper is made of Japanese paper with the symbol of the five-story pagoda of To-ji Temple, the head temple of the Shingon sect of Buddhism, located at the entrance to Heian-kyo. The raw material is hemp, a plant fiber. Furthermore, the fibers are crushed by applying pressure to the Washi paper, resulting in an excellent product that absorbs only sebum. It is an original oil blotting paper that does not absorb water by capillary action, which is often seen in pulp paper. [Toji Temple] There were two temples at the entrance to Heian-kyo (present-day Kyoto), To-ji Temple and Sai-ji Temple, but only To-ji Temple remains today. It is widely known as the temple where Kobo Daishi (Kukai) lived. The five-story wooden pagoda, one of the largest in Japan, is the first structure you see when you arrive at Kyoto Station on the Shinkansen bullet train. |

<東寺>
