[Isis]
Goddess of Egyptian mythology. Isis is a Greek word, and in ancient Egypt she was called Aceto.
In Heliopolis mythology, she is the child of Geb and Nut, sister and wife of Osiris, and sister of Set and Nephthys.
She is also the sister of Set and Nephthys, and one of the Nine Pillars of Gods. She is also the mother of Horus. According to another myth, she was the daughter of Ra.

Originally the goddess of Per*Hebet, north of Busiris in the Nile River delta, she was a fertility goddess who represented the rich soil of the Nile.
She is known to have had large temples to Isis on the island of Philae in Nubia and at Sais on the banks of the Nile.
She is represented as a woman with the wings of a kite or kite on her back. Later, when she replaced the goddess Hathor, she was also represented as a woman with bull horns and a sun disk on her head, which she inherited from the goddess Hathor. Later, she was also represented as a woman holding a torch and ears of wheat, the symbols of the daemons.
Isis is also considered to be the goddess of the throne, in which case she is represented with the throne on the top of her head. Her name is said to symbolize [the throne], and her name means [protector of the throne of her husband Osiris] or [protector of the throne of her son Horus].
Isis is also sometimes represented as a female goddess holding the uas staff (usually held by male deities or kings), which means [power and dominion] and the ankh, which means [life], as is believed to be held by the patron goddess of kingship.
