Description
Senshu towels with the soft and gentle gauze touch*. Cotton gauze towels carefully woven in Senshu, Osaka*. The pile fabric is highly absorbent and has a good texture. 〜What is Senshu Towel? Senshu Towel is Japan's oldest towel production area, which has been around since the Meiji Era (1868-1912). Senshu Towel is one of Japan's representative towels along with Imabari Towel. Senshu towels are made using the "post bleaching" process, which is known for its excellent absorbency, cleanliness, and texture. The brocade used for the towels is made by adding glue or wax to make it slippery and easy to weave. This makes the towels easier to weave. Therefore, the towels are not as absorbent as they are when they are woven. However, Senshu towels undergo a bleaching process after weaving. The towels are then bleached, which washes away any residues of the cotton and wax, resulting in towels with excellent water absorbency. The towels are soft and fluffy enough for babies and people with sensitive skin. *Made in Japan special feature*. |
