Description
Shinichi Fujii (Author) The island of Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands, known as the site of fierce battles in the Pacific War, suffered a new armed conflict [ethnic* tension] around the dawn of the 21st century. The islanders did not share the same group consciousness, and the difference in temperature between the armed groups and the islanders resulted in varying degrees of complicity in the conflict. After analyzing how they handled the conflict, we will discuss the process of reconciliation and restoration of relations, the most important issues in post-conflict social reconstruction. Are war and violence of the extraordinary world? Survival strategies of those who survived [ordinary] conflicts will highlight the co-temporal relationship between peace and conflict and the dynamism of conflict resolution. |
