| Rabitta is a rabbit girl who lives in the mountains. When her mother asked her to run an errand, she went down to the town with Rabitta Rabitta. She cheerfully runs errands at the post office, the yarn shop, and the bookstore. But since they brought so many carrots as money, they were exhausted by the time they finished their errands. We take a short rest on a bench by the fountain. As I listened to the music playing in the square while leisurely chewing on a carrot, I began to feel sleepy. After a while, I realized, "Oh my God! ラビッタちゃんは、山で暮らすうさぎの女の子。おかあさんにお使いをたのまれて、ラビッタラッタ、と町へ下りていきました。
ゆうびんやさんや毛糸やさん、本屋さんで元気よく用事をすませます。でもお金がわりのにんじんをたくさん持ってきたので、おつかいがおわるころには、もうクタクタ。噴水のベンチでちょっとひとやすみ。のんびりにんじんをかじりながら、広場の演奏を聞いていると、なんだか眠くなってきました。
しばらくしてハッときがつくと、さあたいへん！ お日さまが沈みかけています。ラビッタちゃんは、山のおうちへいそぎますが……。
作者のかじりさんは、本作が絵本第一作の新人です。おすまいは東京の郊外・緑ゆたかな玉川上水ぞいで、幼稚園と小学生の娘さんを育てながら、本作を描きあげました。
