Playing with flowers at Suikaan

30 years since her debut in a quarterly magazine [Ginka], she has been quietly opening up her own unique world.

As I admire the beauty of paper, I want to draw something that will enhance the beauty of the paper.
It is not always a picture. Sometimes it is hand-drawn characters such as typography.
Japanese bound books, hanging scrolls, postage stamps and karuta: ...... I am also interested in the shape of paper.
[This is the first collection of works by Fujio Kawagishi, a contemporary painter who captures on paper the beauty that accompanies paper.

Fujio Kawagishi
