The Arakawa River, 173 km long, flows out of the mountains of Chichibu, passes through Saitama and Tokyo prefectures, and empties into Tokyo Bay. At the middle of the river, it splits into the Sumida River and the main branch of the Arakawa River. From the Meiji Era to the Showa Era.
