Is the [world] we see from here and now the same as the [world] others see from elsewhere? Questioning [the world] and questioning [me questioning the world] - when we are in this interactive situation, we are reminded that [the world] is not self-evident. If this is the case, we are forced to rethink the history of the world, or what "world history" is, and rethink the conventional Western-centered, adult-male-centered depiction of "world history. The project will intersect the temporal and spatial axes, and consider comparisons and relationships from the perspective of gender history.

Another purpose of this volume is to confront contemporary issues. We now face a number of issues that must be considered on a global scale and tackled cooperatively. After experiencing the new coronavirus* pandemic, and dragging behind us the divisions of the 20th century, such as the Russian*Ukrainian war and the Israeli invasion of Gaza, we are living in the 21st century, where digital technologies such as big data, IoT, and generative AI are influencing human relationships. In order to open the door to the solution of various issues, we must ask appropriate questions and delve into these questions from multiple angles and layers based on the evidence (historical materials).
In this volume, we will delve into the contemporary world from the perspective of gender history, which runs through the entire series, and contemplate the nature of its [modernity]. In other words, it is a work of "historicizing" and "relativizing" the 20th century from the perspective of gender history.
