Description
This basket bag is a traditional handicraft of Tuganan village in Bali, Indonesia. Skilled craftsmen carefully weave ata, a plant in the fern family, into these bags. Because of the many processes involved, it takes more than one month to make one bag. Because of this, they are very durable and are said to last a lifetime if used carefully. This is an ata basket bag accented with two coconut buttons on the top and bottom. The handle is made of cowhide, which is comfortable to hold in the hand. It is recommended for a short outing or to match with a yukata (light cotton kimono). |
