[Kuwana Tsuru is a seasoned laver made with locally grown Kuwana laver and seasoned with our original mild and rich sauce made by slowly simmering premium Hokkaido kombu and honkare-bushi (dried bonito flakes). [Kuwana's Tono-san Shigure de Chazuke] Kuwana is the 42nd post town on the 53 Stages of the Tokaido Highway. As the eastern gateway to the country of Ise, Kuwana was crowded with people visiting the Ise Shrine, especially those crossing the 7 ri from Owari by boat [Shichiri-no-watashi]. It is said that Basho's great disciple Kagami Shikaku named it "Shigure-haguri" (clam in the rain). 「桑名の殿さん時雨で茶々漬」
桑名は東海道五十三次の42番目の宿場町。伊勢の国の東玄関として尾張から海上七里を船で渡る「七里の渡し」を中心に、伊勢神宮へ参拝する人々で賑わいを見せておりました。
尾芭蕉の高弟 各務支考が、「時雨蛤」（しぐれはまぐり）と名付けたと言われています。また、騒ぎ唄（広く宴会でうたう歌）の「桑名の殿様」で「桑名の殿様、時雨で茶茶漬け・・♪」と歌われて有名です。
