Description
| This book introduces the artistry of 103 pieces of carefully selected Middle Jomon pottery and clay figures excavated in the Chubu Highlands straddling Yamanashi and Nagano prefectures, as well as the wisdom and rich sensitivity of the people of the Jomon period. All of the excavated artifacts from the area are newly photographed. Each of the earthenware and clay figurines was photographed from every possible angle, and the mysterious visuals that make the most of the black backgrounds showcase many of the distinctive features. The curvilinear patterns like water smoke, human figures in dancing poses holding earthenware, geometric patterns, etc., maximize the beauty of the Chubu Highlands excavated artifacts, which are full of beauty and wonder. Includes an introduction of the museum and a detailed explanation of the excavated artifacts by the person in charge of each museum in Yamanashi and Nagano. In the latter half of the book, expert authors carefully and clearly introduce points related to the life of the Jomon people in a section entitled "Let's Learn JOMON. |
