About the Author Maki*Nicio*Phipps Writer*illustrator*painter*translator. Born in Fukuoka, raised in Tokyo. Has lived in the U.S. for over 40 years. After graduating from Aoyama Gakuin Women's Junior College with a degree in English Literature, she moved to the United States in 1976. Studied graphic design at Eastern Michigan University. She illustrated the book "Happy English" (published by Shueisha) by singer Agnes Chan. He also worked as an illustrator for Morinaga Seika Co. Since 1986, he has also worked as a translator for the Japanese and U.S. automotive manufacturing industries. In 2020, he began selling his paintings in the gift store of the Biltmore, a tourist attraction in the United States. Currently working mainly on picture book production. |

Born in Fukuoka, raised in Tokyo. Has lived in the U.S. for over 40 years.
After graduating from Aoyama Gakuin Women's Junior College with a degree in English Literature, she moved to the United States in 1976.
Studied graphic design at Eastern Michigan University.
She illustrated the book "Happy English" (published by Shueisha) by singer Agnes Chan.
He also worked as an illustrator for Morinaga Seika Co.
