Mitch is a boy who collects things he finds on the street, such as flower seeds and pretty pebbles. Now he collects cicada exuviae. One day, Mitch finds a piece of wood in the shape of a whale and brings it home. He inadvertently pours barley tea on it, and it turns into a tiny little whale! The whale eats the dead cicada husks and makes a "meen-ming" sound, so Mitch names it "Cicada Whale" and starts keeping it with his father. However, the whale gradually loses its energy and becomes ....... Mitch decides to find something for the right whale. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Inside the treasure chest are all kinds of things I found on the street. There are sparkling beads like jewels, pebbles with stripes on them, and a picture of a skull. I found a bottle lid with a skull-and-crossbones design on it, seeds of flowers in the shape of a crescent moon, and many, many other things. And many, many more.
