監修・著者は、韓国出身の近代文学研究家・金成妍。博士論文「越境する文学—朝鮮児童文学の
生成と日本児童文学者による口演童話活動」で2008年に久留島武彦文化賞を受賞。久留島武彦の
出身地「童話の里」大分県玖珠町(くすまち)で久留島記念館館長を務め、韓国文化と
日本児童文学について広く発信している。
巖谷小波(いわやさざなみ)
日本初の創作童話『こがね丸』を発表して近代児童文学史を拓いた児童文学者であり、俳人。
明治期に児童文芸作品を表す言葉として「お伽噺」を使用、自ら編集長を務めた「少年世界」「少女世界」「幼年世界」などの雑誌を通して日本中に児童文学を広めた。
『桃太郎』『金太郎』『浦島太郎』などの民話や英雄譚の多くは小波の手によって再生され、
幼い読者の手に届いた。
俳人でもあった小波は自ら開拓したお伽噺の世界を俳画の世界に融合させ、「お伽俳画」という独創的な世界を創り上げた。
