Description
[Fabrics] Manganese dyeing, as the name suggests, uses the mineral manganese. The pattern is created by removing the white color from the dark brown yarn through a chemical reaction. It has been popular since the Edo period (1603-1867), but is now a valuable fabric produced only in Niigata. [Products] This long shirt dress uses manganese kasuri. It has a deep open U-neck with a collar. The sleeves are 9/10 sleeves when taken down, but they become 7/10 sleeves when rolled up and buttoned. The front is open, so it can be layered with a cut-and-sew or just a camisole in summer. Enjoy being fashionable with this precious fabric. |
